Food Trucks For Sale In California

Category: Food and Drink

You may or may not have heard about catering truck insurance before but if you are planning on purchasing food vending trucks for sale especially in the state of California then you will definitely need to find some of this insurance.

Initially you will find that it is a bit hard to get catering truck insurance as not all companies provide this type of coverage. The next thing that will affect your receiving the coverage you need is whether you will be insuring a mobile food preparation vehicle or an industrial catering vehicle. The difference between the two is that the mobile food preparation vehicle is used when you need to prepare, store, and serve food from the vehicle (these are also referred to as hot trucks) whereas the industrial catering vehicle (these trucks are also called cold trucks) are used to transport and serve pre-prepared and pre-packaged convenience foods.

One of these trucks can be sold for between $50,000 and $100,000 so you want to make sure that you are insured in the event of any mishaps with your truck because you would be losing a sizeable investment if you were not protected. If you can’t afford to purchase a truck at these prices then you can lease a truck whenever you need to travel with food. This is ideal for small businesses as it allows them the opportunity to have a truck with the correct coverage ensuring that you won’t have to worry about those things and can instead focus on preparing and serving the best food.

You also want to think about the physical storage space you will need to keep the truck while it is off the road. Will you be parking it in your driveway? If so what kind of neighborhood do you live in? Will you be parking it in a commercial space? The bottom line is how safe will the truck be when not in service.

All these things are important and are taken into consideration when it comes to getting insurance for your food truck. When you are seeking food trucks for sale you must ensure that you cover all the bases to ensure that you get a good rate as it is hard enough to get insurance for these types of vehicles.

You will also be required to have the vehicle examined by the health department and until they give you the go ahead, your food truck cannot be insured.
