Let’s face it. When we hear of pocket watches, we think of outdated, old-fashioned and unfashionable pieces of jewelry. They are, after all, considered as obsolete and phased-out by most people. This point is even made stronger by the fact that less and less watch companies are producing and manufacturing them, and those that do, only produce them on a minor scale. However, it is important to note that everything in this world can be reinvented and made trendy once again, and a pocket watch, with all the criticism it has endured, has become one of the victims or rather beneficiaries, of this re-trending process that has become common today.

What kind of re-trending process has it undergone through? For one thing, digital pocket watches are now being produced and manufactured on a major scale. A digital pocket watch is basically a pocket watch that has been modernized by technology. Also, one major advantage about this type of pocket watch is the fact that it is much cheaper compared to the traditional gold and silver pocket watch that were used and manufactured on a major scale more than a century ago.

They can be found practically anywhere, in sporting goods stores, online, and even in jewelry shops. They have become quite the trend nowadays, and most digital pocket watches have features in them that make them more convenient and fun to use, compared to the traditional pocket watch.  They also tell time much more precisely, as compared to their more expensive counterparts.

One huge disadvantage though, is the fact that most are battery-operated and that they will need to be replaced often. They also are more likely to break. However, most are made disposable and as I’ve said, they are cheaper, which means, it should not be much of a problem when one breaks down after about a year of use or so.
