My best friend recently got married and this technique was recently employed at her bridal shower.  They had asked everyone to bring one of their favorite recipes with them to the shower on a 3 x5 card.  When the guests arrived at the shower, they were taken into a room that had all sorts of scrapbooking materials and each person made a scrapbook page for the recipe they had bought.  The end result was that the bride got a one-of-a-kind custom recipe scrapbook from her friends, and everyone had some time to chat and catch up or get acquainted while the scrapbook was being made.  This idea could be expanded to include a birthday wishes scrapbook, your circle of friends’ poetry collection, a get well scrapbook, or a collection of Bible verses or wise advice for a wedding gift.  Once you start, you may well find that a personalized scrapbook is the perfect gift for a close friend on almost any occasion.

Beyond Scrapbooks

Using scrapbook paper and other scrapbooking materials doesn’t need to be limited to just formal scrapbooks either.  The right materials could make great decorations for almost any project.  Need to turn some boring paper bags into party favor bags?  Grab the scrapbooking stuff and go for it.  You could even add a bit of flair to pre-made party bags 2 go.  Such materials are also ideal for making homemade greeting cards.  In fact, why not give your artistic flair full rein.  You can add little embellishments to everyday friendly correspondence, your children’s school supplies, cards, and envelopes.  If you’re feeling really ambitious, you could even make your own notebooks and journals.  Whatever new uses you come up with, your friends will appreciate your creativity and effort when they receive your creations.
