One of the most wonderful strange animals in the world is the Australian Frill-Necked Lizard.

The Frill-Necked Lizard, or Chlamydosaurus kingii, has a frilly collar of skin around its neck, which usually folds against the neck and the head. As the creature sees a predator and becomes frightened, its mouth opens to show a bright yellow or pink lining, and the frilly collar opens and shines in red and orange shades. Also called Frilled Lizard or Frilled Dragon, this Australian creature can be as much as one meter in length, although the males are much bigger than the females. The frill is believed to frighten away dangerous animals, but the lizard also hisses at its predators.

Some of the world’s weirdest animals can be found in the depths of the oceans. As the name suggests, the Blobfish (Psychrolutes marcidus) looks like a blob. This deep water creature living in the waters surrounding Australia is made of jelly-like gelatinous mass, which helps it to move in the deep pressure environment in the depths of the ocean. Because its body is less dense than water, it can float around in the pressurized environment without using its energy to swim. The Blobfish mainly eats what floats around it. The Blobfish is one of the weirdest animals in the world and because it lives in the deepest waters of the oceans, it is not often seen by people.

The Yeti Crab, or Kiwa hirsuta, was discovered in the South Pacific as recently as 2005. This crustacean has furry legs and claws, which have given it the name yeti crab (sometimes also called yeti lobster). The Yeti Crab has silky fur that covers its legs is blond in color. It is believed that the Yeti Lobster is blind, and its eyes have little pigment.
