The Joys Of A Puppy Play Pen

Category: Animals

A puppy makes a fabulous pet for a family.  Not only are they loads of fun and extremely lovable, they also, help to encourage a family to keep fit by taking them for regular walks.  Nonetheless, there is a certain downside to getting a puppy rather than an older rescue dog.  Puppies are completely untrained and it takes hours of patience and hard work to be able to guarantee good behavior most of the time.  One of the most useful accessories to help you in this endeavor is a puppy play pen.

Start by installing the pen in the room where the family will be spending most of its time.  This way he will be able to experience everything that is going on and get used to his new family.  Make sure that everyone spends quality time in the pen playing with the puppy, and be sure that everyone is using the same commands and has the same expectations.  Put toys into the puppy pen and play with the puppy regularly.  On his visits out of the pen make sure that the toys are also out with him so that he can be taught to chew on them and not on any household items.

Placing a dog kennel into puppy play pens is a great way to help with house training.  The young dog will not want to urinate or mess what he sees as his own space and so, as long as you take him often outside to let him go to the toilet, he will try his best not to use his pen for this purpose.  Of course when you are not training your puppy you have a nice safe area where there is nothing that he can damage and no way that he can hurt himself.  Once you have used a play pen to train a puppy, you will come to fully appreciate its potential and will never look back.
