There is so much information that new mothers think that they need to know.  From the earliest stages of the pregnancy to the delivery to the actual raising of the baby, mothers can really feel inundated with so much different advice from their relatives, their friends, and even people that she barely knows.  This can be a very frustrating process for her.  After all, who is it that she should believe?

Add to all this, the internet which covers everything from how early can you take a pregnancy test to breast feeding foods to avoid and then the mother is really in a quandary.  After all, how is she supposed to learn and comprehend all this information.  For something so timeless as giving birth, why is there so much conflicting information out there.

Talk to a few people about babies and you will find that they are quite opinionated.  People feel very strongly about certain ways to raise children and are quite vocal about it.  New mothers are often faced with argumentative situations when different family members posit different advice about a variety of subjects.  With the additional insights from the internet, she can easily be faced with a paralysis by analysis situation.

Of course, the ultimate goal is for her to not be indecisive when it counts. For instance, if the child is facing a medical emergency, she should take the child to the doctor instead of trying to figure it out from her friends and relatives or worse yet do a search on an internet search engine.

The right thing to do is to establish before the child is born who her experts will be and to stick with that list.  These experts may include her physician, her husband or her best friend.  By keeping a short list of who she will listen to, and ignoring the others, she will have greater clarity and better decision making ability.
